Philadelphia Review: Le Virtu

When I first arrived in Philly, I googled “best outdoor seating in Philly”. Le Virtu came up and they had a great deal on Sundays/Mondays. You could get one starter, an entrĂ©e, and a drink for $35. While looking at the menu before we showed up, I was drooling. They raved about how they imported their ingredients from Abruzzo, Italy. Needless to say, my hopes were high. Google did not lie, the courtyard was beautiful.

We ordered the house wines that came with our deal and got a decent pour. I ordered the Formaggi which is a mixture of cheese and honey as my Antipasti. It did not disappoint. I never would have ordered this if it wasn’t for a deal, but I am so glad I did. It was some of the best cheese I have ever had. They were also paired nicely with the honey & jams.

The flavors exploded in your mouth.

For my Primi, I ordered the dish they called out on their website: Maccheroni alla Mugnaia. It was a single strand of pasta. See below for the pictures. It was delicious. Not only was it impressive that they made one strand of pasta so long, but it was so delicious. This is a great date night spot.
